Catenary is a collection of sketches, drawings and scores made in preparation for the installation at Caramoor in Katonah, NY in June 2014. Two metal structures raised eight feet from the ground were mounted with over 42 piano wires extending 400 feet across the estate in various directions. The boxes, which featured circular dot patterns cut onto the surfaces, housed the mechanical components that resonated the wires. These dot patterns, found on the front and back cover of the book, are both a speaker grating and a score of the rhythmic patterns that the installation follows. This book assembles works ranging from early studies of wire designs to overhead images and performance sketches that were realized through a variety of mediums and processes applied to paper and mylar substrates. Printed in an edition of 100 copies.
