Installed at Castleberry Point in Atlanta, Georgia as part of Flux Night 2012, Parking Generation featured tuned piano wire ranging from 50 to 450 feet in length that was stretched across a four-level parking lot and resonated by mechanical strikers. The piece derives its name from a parking generation, a document prepared by the Institute of Transportation Engineers that provides statistics on the average peak parking demand such as when the peak demand occurs, the range of the peak, the coefficent of variation and standard deviation data.
